What does Kosh-a mean?

The word Kosh-a is derived from Sanskrit, a classical Indian language that has been part of its scriptures since the Bronze Age. It means ‘sheath’ or covering of the Atman or True self – starting with the physical body and moving inward to the core of the self.

Who are we?

Kosh-a is a vegan, slow fashion footwear brand for women. All our shoes are handmade and handcrafted by artisans in India. For more details read About Us.

What do you mean by slow fashion?

It means manufacturing in small batches with limited styles and quantities. At Kosh-a we focus on these three aspects, as we are not subjected to following fashion trends and our manufacturing partners have no minimum MOQ’s (minimum order quantities) which encourages small batch production.

What do you mean by vegan?

It means not using animal products for manufacturing or production. At Kosh-a we respect our environment and its natural habitat. This has allowed us to explore the option of using alternate forms of leather as opposed to using animal skin.

What do you mean by handmade?

It means not using machines to make shoes. Each Kosh-a shoe is handmade and handcrafted using traditional shoe manufacturing methods. For more details read Our Artisanal Process.

What are ‘Kolhapuri Chappals’?

Where are Kosh-a footwear manufactured?

Our products are manufactured in India, using non-leather material. Sandals are 100% handmade and no two products will ever look the same.

How do I style Kosh-a footwear?

A pair of Kosh-a footwear is versatile for the modern woman. You can pair them with your everyday jeans and top, dresses and even with a formal ensemble. For styling options, keep an eye out on our Instagram.

How to keep your Kosh-a footwear clean and fresh?

To avoid mold, odor, and bleaching through humidity and hot temperature, we suggest storing our footwear in a cool and dry place.
Do not wear them when your feet are wet or around water.
Stuff your footwear with acid-free tissue paper, packing paper, or newspaper to help maintain the shape.
Use the silica pouches (placed in a cloth bag with your footwear) to keep them moisture and bacteria-free.
Use a damp cloth (preferably white) to clean the product and do not use petrol or any harsh detergent/solution.

Are Kosh-a footwear comfortable?

Yes. All our shoes have an extra layer of padding, making it soft and comfortable.

Do you offer in-between sizing?

We do not offer half sizes at the moment but if you are in between sizes, we recommend you order a size up.

Shipping & Deliveries

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, we provide free shipping on all domestic orders.

When will my order ship?

Orders will be shipped every Tuesday and Friday. If an order has been placed after 3 pm CST, it will be processed for the next shipping day.

When will I receive my order?

Orders will be received within 10-14 business days.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards and paypal.

How can I check my order status?

When your order ships out you will receive an email confirmation with your tracking number. If you click on your tracking number this will link with the mail carrier so you can track your package. Please make sure to check your spam and promotions folder if you can’t locate the order and shipping confirmation emails.

Where do you ship?

We ship to all states in the US except Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and AFO/FPO/DPO addresses.

Do you ship internationally?

No, we currently do not ship overseas but are working towards making it happen.

Returns & Exchange

How can I exchange an item?

We do not offer direct exchanges of our products. If you need a different size or color, you will need to return the item back to us for a refund, and then place a new order.

When can I return an item?

Returns are accepted within 7 days of the delivery date.

How do I initiate a return?

Please send an email with your order number to returns@kosh-a.com. Upon your request, we will email a USPS shipping label. Return shipping cost will be deducted from the original form of payment. A flat rate of $8 will be deducted from your original form of payment.

Where can I return?

Returns can be made only through USPS.

When do I get my refund?

Once we receive your package, we will verify its contents, and inspect it to ensure it is unworn, in its original condition, and free of damage. We will then send the amount back to your original form of payment within 7-10 business days. A flat rate of $8 will be deducted from your original form of payment.

How do I package my return?

Please pack the product back with tissue and place it inside the cloth bag, just the way you received it. Place the return shipping label on the outside of the return box. Please make sure the box is taped/double-taped if necessary. The return will not be accepted if there is any damage. All returns must be sent back to the below address:

What is the return cost?

We provide a flat-rate USPS shipping label for your return. The flat rate of $8 will be deducted from your final refunded amount.
